Extended School Day / Year

Intervention Programs
Beginning October 2017

Program Eligibility: Space is very limited; therefore enrollment is not open to the general school population.
Academic data is used for inviting students to one of the following academic intervention programs:
  • Literacy Intervention
Montello is using the Leveled Literacy Intervention Program (LLI). LLI is a small-group, researched-based intervention program designed for children who need support in reading and writing. LLI is a short-term program designed to bring children up to grade-level performance. The lessons include a combination of reading, writing, phonics, and word study. It places an emphasis on reading comprehension strategies in both fiction and nonfiction. The program helps children expand their vocabulary, notice the details of written language, and learn how words “work”.
  • Math Intervention - We use strand-specific interventions to target student needs around mathematical concepts and skills

Extracurricular Programs
Beginning October 2017

Program Eligibility: Enrollment is limited to the general school population in grades 1-6 who are meeting Montello's behavior expectations and who are current in their school work. A lottery system is used to place eligible students into one of our programs.
  • Program offerings vary, but may include sports teams, art, drama, and robotics among others. Activities will run approximately 20-25 days, providing students with multiple opportunities to participate. Flyers with registration forms will be sent home with students approximately 2-3 weeks prior to activity start date.

  • Look for flyers and check back here for more opportunities for your child to enroll in an extracurricular activity.
